The Salat of 9/5

I am quite proud to be present at the birth of the Quranic Translation Sect. It just occured to me that these ‘quran alone’ people are those who reject the term ‘Quranist’ (which we must respect as is their right) but then go on to call Quranists a sect even though it is they who use fundamentalist language whereas Quranists preach inclusivism. They don’t mind calling others pagans and say they are bound for hell which is the indication for sectarian behaviour yet have the audacity to accuse Quranists (people who believe there are many ways to God, among other things).

But lets face facts, these people do not really follow the Quran. No, what they do is to hide behind ‘popular translations’ , as one very vulgar Quranic Fundamentalist says. With popular translations, we get the ‘common meaning’ of words. He even says that we actually reading the Quran when we read popular translations!

This is ok but not what the Quranists do which they say is to ‘play around with roots’. Play around?! How do you play around? Do you rewrite the ancient dictionaries? No, you go back to the dictionaries and choose a meaning which fits THE QURAN itself. So the Quran remains the criteria, not popular translations, as the Quranist Translation Sect (QTS) claims.

I now ask the QTS people, what about 9/5.  If you read 9/5 according to ‘Popular Transtions’ , then here is what you will get:

But when the forbidden months are past, then fight and slay the Pagans wherever ye find them, an seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem (of war); but if they repent, and establish regular prayers and practise regular charity, then open the way for them: for Allah is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful (Abdullah Yusuf Ali)

In other words, anyone who starts a war with you can only attain peace if they start praying! This is forcing people to enter islam, something which contradicts the Quran. The Quran only says:

Fight in the cause of Allah those who fight you, but do not transgress limits; for Allah loveth not transgressors. (2/190 according to Abdullah Yusuf Ali)

So all popular translations contradict the Quran itself! But no matter to the Quranic Translation Sect, as long as it’s ‘popular’, that would be enough for it to be right!

Good luck to them…

The Transexual Magicians of Firaun

I’ve caught Bin Nabi fever it seems! It’s like Saturday Night Fever except its effects won’t make you jump off the Brooklyn Bridge in your bell bottoms. Was checking something about Firaun this morning and discovered this:

يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَاحِرٍ عَلِيمٍ
(7/112). Notice that its sahireenn aleem. No problem there, knowledgeable magicians.Sahireenn is masculine, you should note at this point. Firaun was calling for them to fight Musa. 7/113-119 then shows their attitudes, confrontation with Musa and eventual defeat. Now comes 7/120:

وَأُلْقِيَ السَّحَرَةُ سَاجِدِينَ

This is a very interesting phraseology employed here. As-saharah is in singular and its FEMININE. Did some kind of sex change surgery take place right after the confrontation? I dont think so because the last word of 7/120 is sajideen , MASCULINE. What does this tell us? Think about it…

1. The magicians who were sahireen lost and therefore became saharah. Their potency or capacities in magic were diminished or emasculated perhaps.

2. They are sajideen/masucline in the sujood/prostration sense of the word. Possibly because they are now into sujood and their potency or willingness runs high.

For the English speaking Quranists, as far as I’m aware, we have now entered a new phase in our study, all thanks to Bin Nabi and RP for bringing us his work.
