What’s wrong with Islam?

Resolved Question

What’s wrong with Islam?

I dont mean the people who follow this religion, but things you may feel are wrong or contradictory in the Quran, not the Hadith.
As a Quranist, I feel the Hadith may have been twisted over time and are no longer valid as a result of it, but the Quran is supposed to be eternally the same, so should be a better reference for the religion.
I am just curious, and waiting for your responses =)

Cheir, do you have any sources? I would love to read in on that

Thanks Cheir! It was an interesting read, but of course I would like to see a comparision of the texts before I consider it a major piece of Evidence.
It was nice to see other Quranists (Shah and Autumn – Joy Killer) here too.

May peace be upon you. There is nothing wrong with Islam. Only God can change the religion and He has stated in the Qur’an that He has perfected it for us. No matter how many people blindly hold the hadiths higher than Qur’an can change the religion.”And if ye are in doubt concerning that which We reveal unto Our slave (Muhammad), then produce a surah of the like thereof (min mithlihi), and call your witness beside Allah if ye are truthful. And if ye do it not – and ye can never do it – then guard yourselves against the Fire prepared for disbelievers, whose fuel is of men and stones.” (2:23-24)

The hadith is in no way a Holy Scripture sent down from God. Instead, it is based on conjecture and stories passed down from generation to generation and written a long time after Prophet Mohamed’s death. Just as God said any persons who try to make later books that try to surpass or be like the Holy Books will fail. Just look at these lines taken from the hadiths, each saying a different thing:

1) I leave with you Quran and Sunnah.
Muwatta, 46/3

2) I leave with you Quran and Ahl al-bayt.
Muslim 44/4, Nu2408; ibn hanbal 4/366; darimi 23/1, nu 3319.

3) I leave you for the Quran alone you shall uphold it.
Muslim 15/19, nu 1218; ibn Majah 25/84, Abu dawud 11/56.

However, I feel it is just as wrong to divide ourselves into sects. I do not follow the hadith, I only follow the Qur’an, only God’s Words. I don’t care about what others say or about conjecture. Yet I define myself as only a Muslim, simply a submitter to God’s will which is the literal meaning of the word “Muslim”. To add to that is to add another element to my submission. But I refuse to do this, as my loyalty and religion should only be dedicated to God. As followers of God’s will, we should adhere to the Qur’an the best we can. In the Qur’an, we are clearly warned against dividing into sects:

“Those who divide themselves into sects do not belong with you. Their judgment rests with GOD, then He will inform them of everything they had done.” (6:159)

“(Do not fall in idol worship,) like those who divide their religion into sects; each party rejoicing with what they have.” (30:32)

“Ironically, they broke up into sects only after the knowledge had come to them, due to jealousy and
resentment among themselves. If it were not for a predetermined decision from your Lord to respite them for a definite interim, they would have been judged immediately. Indeed, the later generations who inherited the scripture are full of doubts.” (42:14)
