Are we being too rationalist with the malaika question?

Faridha asked on QD today: what does malaika mean to you? I find it so interesting that ‘king’ ‘right hand possess’ and ‘angels’ in arabic have the same root meaning.

I read some of the answers and i thought we might be a bit too rationalist and scientistic. After all, who were the malaika who visited ibrahim and luth? Maybe our own paradigms are limited.

  1. Mansoor says:

Acording to my opinion, First correct the root of word Malaika, The word “Malik” & “Milaik” are bit different and have different meaning. The word used for Anger is “Malika”, you can say they are the servents of Allah and have devine’s power.

Being a rationilist, we can’t say that Malika paradigm is limited, coz they act as Devine guidence. so whose dogma base on Devine how his paradigm would be limited.
