Differences between Nabi and Rasool

by Mount Sinai

Nabi is the one who knows the message of Allah. Rasool is the one who conveys the message of Allah. Before conveying the message one has to know the message first. In that sense, a rasool is also a Nabi in the first place.
There is no logic for such command to obey Nabi. A Nabi (who is a human being) can convey anything. When a Nabi conveys message of Allah then he becomes (or performing as) Rasool of Allah. ‘Obey Rasool’ actually means to obey what is conveyed (the message of Allah). It doesn’t mean to obey whatever a human being says or commands.

Understanding the Concept of the Forbidden Tree

Muhammad Tufail Shad

After effect of tasting Forbidden Tree

Exposition:-
In this way Shaitan/devil threw both(the people and the ruler) deep into the depth of individualism from the height of joint system) with fraud (1) When both tasted the forbidden tree(of proud and denial) (2) the evils of the both appeared to each other (3).Upon this both started implementing the rules of Paradise(4)( of the joint system)( the society again became like Jannat/paradise . Their Rubb said to them( through the Nabi/Ambiyaa/messengers (5). Had i not forbidden you from this forbidden tree(6)( of proud and denial)?. And Had I not said to you that Shaitan is (7)your open enemy ?
Some points as numbered above are still to be explained:-
1- فَدَلَّٮٰهُمَا
دَلَّ means ;hanged down. Therefore its meaning is; Shaitan hanged both(ruler and the people) in the deep depth ; these words have come allegorical , Its Mafhoom/concept is that Shaitan threw them from the heights of the joint system to the depth of individual system which was down fall of the mankind.
2- ذَاقَا
Means both tasted .
This word is also used allegorically/symbolically ; which is used after acting something but resulting into worst failure. The person acting feels high insults . In the duration of individual system of subdividing the society ;everywhere ;it is seen lawlessness .Ruler or the people ;the mutual trust is finished .The government imposes heavy taxes upon the people but people try to refuse that with different excuses .Trust of people to people is also finished because of self interest every body is after collection of wealth with fake ,fraud, mixing wrong material with original and by hoarding.
3- بَدَتۡ لَهُمَا سَوۡءَٲتُہُمَا
During the joint economic system ; the individual system has no chance to exist as each person is getting his/her basic needs according to the needs and right in time. But in individual system each person having no influence are deprived from Basic human rights because of which they try to use the unfair means to get those rights. On the other hand the influential people use all fair and unfair means to collect maximum wealth because of which they both(ruler and the people) become naked before each.
other.
Rawayaat/Hadith have mentioned totally different concept of بَدَتۡ لَهُمَا سَوۡءَٲتُہُمَا , Messenger Adam(Salam un Alaih) and Hawwa R. U Ilaiha became naked as they both tasted /ate wheat /grapes/ garlic in the Paradise and their private parts became visible to each other.
Hadiths have mentioned totally opposite to 11/61, 20/55, 53/32, 71/17-18 and have started from that point ; that Allah had made idol of the messenger Adam ; created his wife out of his rib ;ordered them to live in the paradise .But warned them both ;to eat where ever they want but do not come near this tree. Which was that tree? It is in the Tafseer that it was the tree of wheat/grape or garlic. It happened so that they both could not control themselves and tasted that Forbidden Tree. Then happened so! Both became naked !! they became without dresses .Their private parts became visible to eachother!!! God Forbid. Astaghfirullah.
ٱلشَّجَرَةِ
It does not mean only the tree but also fight or dispute. In the current verse تِلۡكُمَا ٱلشَّجَرَةِ does not mean Tree but individual system .It is the dispute of individual system which is the main cause of mutual fights . This has been denoted as ٱلشَّجَرَةِ and has been forbidden not to come near that.
Forbidden Tree has been defined as أَبَىٰ وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ (2/33) means to refuse the Divine rules and proud with which the dispute and fights are generated .The early societies were established on the bases of joint system but Shaitan, Iblees in the form of person derailed/deviated the mankind who established the individual system of government ; the hidden social evils of the ruler and the people became visible to each other.
It is but natural that in the individual system lie, fraud, bribery, black marketing appears or takes place as an epidemic disease but in the joint system it is finished up to maximum.
4- وَطَفِقَا يَخۡصِفَانِ عَلَيۡہِمَا مِن وَرَقِ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ‌
Rawayaat/Hadith have given the concept ;when Adam and Hawwa became naked in the Jannat ;they covered their nakedness by covering with the leaves of the Jannat –Trees. With this idea Blasphemy of the 1st messenger was also not cared for.
Reality is the same which has been mentioned above ; it is not the story of Adam and Eva/Hawwa but it is the description of early societies of the mankind. Mankind was created out of the earth for which 11/61, 20/55,53/32 and 71/17-18 are the witnesses.
Allah ordered through His early messengers/Nabi for joint Central system because of which a balanced society came into being ;in which everybody(common man and the ruler) had access for the balanced needs of the life وَكُلَا مِنۡهَا رَغَدًا حَيۡثُ شِئۡتُمَا 2/35
But the people who became the slave of Nafs e Ammara/Shaitan changed the joint system into the individual devil system. After this the bad /social evils of the common man and the president /ruler were vanished with the help of joint system. In other words they imposed upon themselves the rules of paradise /balanced society.
وَرَقِ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ‌ۖ
وَرَقِ means Law and Jannat means ;the society in which the utility of life are in abundant/plentiful.. In 18/19 وَرَقِ has been used as coin of law which is running legally in a government. Coin is also called وَرَقِ because it has also legal status .Jannat means also balanced society 20/118-119.
5- وَنَادَٮٰهُمَا رَبُّہُمَا
Here the media of the messengers or Nabi is omitted . Because Allah had never addressed to the common man or to the ruler but He always addressed through the Nabi/nominated persons. In the early era of the mankind ;where ever the mankind was created ;Allah ordered for the establishment of the joint system.
When the people became naked by changing the joint system into the individual system or kingdom ;Allah had ordered through His Nabi/nominated persons ; Had I not forbidden you from the forbidden tree of individual interest.?
6- Forbidden Tree.
It has been explained that Forbidden Tree; it is neither a wheat tree nor a tree of grape or garlic but a regretted Individual system in which the basic needs or requirements of people are not the responsibility of the state because in this the disputes break out on every step because of individual clash of interests. Disputes(trees) continue to generate ;all become enemy of each other and the atmosphere becomesبَعۡضُكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ عَدُوٌّ۬‌ۖ 2/36+ 7/24
7- إِنَّ ٱلشَّيۡطَـٰنَ لَكُمَا عَدُوٌّ۬ مُّبِينٌ۬
Anybody who suggests to establish the individual system and stops from the joint system is Shaitan ; an open enemy of the mankind. Such person wants to push the mankind into the hell of mutual disputes , fights and enmity. That person is Shaitan who becomes the slave of Nafs e Ammara ; becomes himself an Iblees ; is an open indication of an open enemy. An indication of an open enemy is to suggest imbalance society .

What is Prudence (Taqwa)?

by Rai Mahmood Akhtar,

PRUDENCE
We should listen to the words of prudence and take heed of her consuls and store and preserve them in our Qulb. Universal are her maxims derived from the words of Allah the creator of the universe from nothing. All virtues lean upon prudence; she is the mistress of human life.
Put a halter before your tongue and earlier before the move of your hands. Set a guard to your lips and deploy police before the trafficking of your hands so, what you speak and write may not destroy your “self “.
Do not scoff at the lame, take care that you halt not yourself. Whosoever speak the failing of another expect his own, adding bitterness of his /her own heart. Be not a chatter box and don’t write without confirmation, definitely safety is in silence.
Babbling of a talkative person injure the ears and torrent of his words overwhelmed conversation, he become nuisance to society.
Self-praising bring contempt to yourself. Never ridicule others, it is dangerous. Bitter jest is poisonous to friendship; don’t you like to expand your acquaintances and close friends? One who cannot restrain his tongue always invite trouble to himself.
Furnish proper comfortable accommodation to your condition and affordability, extravagancy is a road to disaster. Certainly sneaky whisper of Shaitan lead you toward this way. In rich couches always reside restless hearts; contended souls mostly dwell in the moderately furnished house.
Let not your recreation be expensive, lest your extensive purchases swallow the pleasure you have expected.
Let not the prosperity intoxicate you to put out eyes of circumspection. Be on your toes, always abundance extend greed so, cut off hands of frugality. Don’t indulge in superfluities of life.
Always learn wisdom from the experience of other and correct your own faults from other’s failings.
Whenever you come across a proved honest person lock his/her up in your breast as treasure. You find a jewel of inestimable price, guard him/her.
Save yourself from the favour of religious persons, they confound truth with falsity knowingly, feeling no scar on their conscience, it’s a snare, please never quit your journey to the straight and balanced path.
Don’t expect infallible success from prudence as the day know not what the night bring forth, not a fool always enchained by fortune nor a wise man always successful. Winner are those who trust in Allah, follow unalterable laws and permanent human values set by their creator and move forward persistently on the right direction without fearing as the hope motivate them to accomplishing their ultimate goal. Certainly wisdom and prudence differentiate us from the rest of this universe.

True Sayings of the Messenger in Al-Baqarah

by Rebecca Marlene Sebastian

2:80 And they say: Fire shall not touch us but for a few days. *Say: Have you received a promise from Allah, then Allah will not fail to perform His promise, or do you speak against Allah what you do not know?

2:91 And when it is said to them, Believe in what Allah has revealed, they say: We believe in that which was revealed to us; and they deny what is besides that, while it is the truth verifying that which they have. *Say: Why then did you kill Allah’s Prophets before if you were indeed believers?

2:93 And when We made a covenant with you and raised the mountain over you: Take hold of what We have given you with firmness and be obedient. They said: We hear and disobey. And they were made to imbibe (the love of) the calf into their hearts on account of their unbelief. *Say: Evil is that which your belief bids you if you are believers.

2:94 Say: If the future abode with Allah is specially for you to the exclusion of the people, then invoke death if you are truthful.

2:97 Say: Whoever is the enemy of Jibreel– for surely he revealed it to your heart by Allah’s command, verifying that which is before it and guidance and good news for the believers.

2:111 And they say: None shall enter the garden except he who is a Jew or a Christian. These are their vain desires. *Say: Bring your proof if you are truthful.

2:120 And the Jews will not be pleased with you, nor the Christians until you follow their religion. *Say: Surely Allah’s guidance, that is the (true) guidance. And if you follow their desires after the knowledge that has come to you, you shall have no guardian from Allah, nor any helper.

2:135 And they say: Be Jews or Christians, you will be on the right course. *Say: Nay! (we follow) the religion of Ibrahim, the Hanif, and he was not one of the polytheists.

2:136 Say: We believe in Allah and (in) that which had been revealed to us, and (in) that which was revealed to Ibrahim and Ismail and Ishaq and Yaqoub and the tribes, and (in) that which was given to Musa and Isa, and (in) that which was given to the prophets from their Lord, we do not make any distinction between any of them, and to Him do we submit.

2:139 Say: Do you dispute with us about Allah, and He is our Lord and your Lord, and we shall have our deeds and you shall have your deeds, and we are sincere to Him.

2:140 Nay! do you say that Ibrahim and Ismail and Yaqoub and the tribes were Jews or Christians? Say: Are you better knowing or Allah? And who is more unjust than he who conceals a testimony that he has from Allah? And Allah is not at all heedless of what you do.

2:142 The fools among the people will say: What has turned them from their qiblah which they had? Say: The East and the West belong only to Allah; He guides whom He likes to the right path.

2:189 They ask you concerning the new moon. *Say: They are times appointed for (the benefit of) men, and (for) the pilgrimage; and it is not righteousness that you should enter the houses at their backs, but righteousness is this that one should guard (against evil); and go into the houses by their doors and be careful (of your duty) to Allah, that you may be successful.

2:215 They ask you as to what they should spend. *Say: Whatever wealth you spend, it is for the parents and the near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the wayfarer, and whatever good you do, Allah surely knows it.

2:217 They ask you concerning the forbidden month about fighting in it. *Say: Fighting in it is a grave matter, and hindering (men) from Allah’s way and denying Him, and (hindering men from) the Forbidden Mosque and turning its people out of it, are still graver with Allah, and persecution is graver than slaughter; and they will not cease fighting with you until they turn you back from your religion, if they can; and whoever of you turns back from his religion, then he dies while an unbeliever– these it is whose works shall go for nothing in this world and the hereafter, and they are the inmates of the fire; therein they shall abide.

2:219 They ask you about intoxicants and games of chance. *Say: In both of them there is a great sin and means of profit for men, and their sin is greater than their profit. And they ask you as to what they should spend. *Say: What you can spare. Thus does Allah make clear to you the communications, that you may ponder

2:220 On this world and the hereafter. And they ask you concerning the orphans Say: To set right for them (their affairs) is good, and if you become co-partners with them, they are your brethren; and Allah knows the mischief-maker and the reformer, and if Allah had pleased, He would certainly have caused you to fall into a difficulty; surely Allah is Mighty, Wise.

2:222 And they ask you about menstruation. Say: It is a discomfort; therefore keep aloof from the women during the menstrual discharge and do not go near them until they have become clean; then when they have cleansed themselves, go in to them as Allah has commanded you; surely Allah loves those who turn much (to Him), and He loves those who purify themselves

Moses’ People and The Cow

by Abdul Rahman Al-Afasy

THE COW AND MOSES PEOPLE

More people is becoming more familiar with this particular hadith/narration BY ALLAH. It is a good sign that more people started to understand the Quran and not just sing it.

This narration/parables/hadith FROM ALLAH is a two edged sword-

(i) it attacks the minds of people who thinks hadiths details the Quran.

God’s commands are simple and straight forward. He asks us to do things only to test our obedience to Him, and of course to have a peaceful living community. Nothing else. He did not set a particular detail because HE DOESNT REQUIRE IT.

(ii) it also attacks those who seek to redefine a well known word such as solat, zakat, fasting, Hajj, etc.

In that narration, God did not have to define what a cow is. Everybody is well aware of what a cow is. Same with solat. At the time of revelation, everybody knows what solat is – an act of remembering Him. He did not specify solat ways because like a cow, there are many variations to it, and God DO NOT REQUIRE A SPECIFIC WAY.

The Quran is wonderful in that way- that it attacks not only the disbeliever, but also attacks the believer, to ensure they are always pondering about it thereby following it the best they can.

These are my personal opinion and you may disagree. Salamun alaikum.

What Is Eiman (Belief) ?

by G.A. Parwez

WHAT IS EIMAN (BELIEF)?
======================

A person is hungry for the last three days and feels extremely weak. He goes to the house of friend who offers his a plateful of warm delicious pudding. He voraciously steps towards it. But as soon as he brings a spoonful of it to his mouth, somebody rushes towards him and tells him that by mistake arsenic has been put in the pudding instead of sugar. Do you think the hungry man shall eat the pudding? No, he shall never eat it. He shall bear the pangs of hunger but shall never put the poisonous food into his mouth. He shall rather throw away the plate. Why has he not taken this food inspite of being extremely hungry? Because he has got the firm belief that he shall die after taking it. How much one might induce him to eat, he shall never do so. A firm belief like this in the laws initiated by God is called “Eiman”. And one who holds such a belief called “Momin”. It is apparent that such a man shall always remain safe from the injurious effects which arise from disobedience of the laws of Allah. That is why a firm belief in the laws of Allah results in (امن) peace. A “Momin” not only saves himself from such injurious effects he also saves other people from it. He thus becomes an instrument of making peace in the world. As humanity remains safe and peaceful by obedience of the Divine laws, that is why one of the attributes of Allah is (المومن) (59:23), which means one who provides peace.

The Human-ness of Muhammad

by Rebecca Marlene Sebastian

18:110 Say: I am only a BASHAR (mortal) LIKE YOU; it is revealed to me that your god is one Allah, therefore whoever hopes to meet his Lord, he should do good deeds, and not join any one in the service of his Lord.

41:6 Say: I am only a BASHAR LIKE YOU; it is revealed to me that your God is one Allah, therefore follow the right way to Him and ask His forgiveness; and woe to the polytheists;

-Notice when Muhammad was told to say clearly that he was only a bashar like us, he is then commanded to also say YOUR GOD IS ONE. Allah connects the point of Muhammad being only a bashar and Allah being the only 1 whom we serve.

So then, those who have grown up believing that Muhammad was far beyond being a bashar like us, they may be saying “but he didn’t make any mistakes, he was perfect” to which I want to advise them to take heed of the word of their Rabb. I will now relate to you a few ayati of the Qur’an that beg to differ about Muhammad being infallible.

33:37 And when you said to him to whom Allah had shown favor and to whom you had shown a favor: Keep your wife to yourself and be careful of (your duty to) Allah; and you concealed in your soul what Allah would bring to light, ***and you feared men, and Allah had a greater right that you should fear Him***. But when Zaid had accomplished his want of her, We gave her to you as a wife, so that there should be no difficulty for the believers in respect of the wives of their adopted sons, when they have accomplished their want of them;

66:1 O Prophet, why do you prohibit what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

9:43 May Allah pardon you, [O Muhammad]; why did you give them permission [to remain behind]? [You should not have] until it was evident to you who were truthful and you knew [who were] the liars.

From these verses we can see that the Prophet was fallible and was in need of Allah’s forgiveness and assistance. This is not by any means a way to degrade him, he and all the messengers were the best of those who submitted to Allah, the strongest of believers in Allah, and the noblest in good deeds! This is in fact to protect the character of the prophet and even his very nature as is described by Allah and Muhammad himself in the Qur’an. This is only to share the truth about the man, a man who had desires and weaknesses, fears and needs just as any mortal, yet he accomplished what he accomplished and he resisted turning away from the Qur’an as much as the people begged him and fought him to make him give up and he refused ! If one truly loves and respects the messenger, they ought to turn to the Qur’an for the truth about him rather than to the literature of men that was produced no earlier than 100 years after his death.

10:15 And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, “Bring us a Qur’an other than this or change it.” Say, [O Muhammad], “It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day.”
